Synopsis

Seven years is long enough to forget how someone breathes in their sleep. Or so Natalie Cole tells herself when she arrives at a remote Scottish estate to catalog the Drummond archive — the career-defining project she's worked years to earn. Three weeks. Twenty-eight rooms. A locked desk hiding secrets that aren't hers. She has a plan. Then Mark Ashby walks through the door with snow on his coat and a key that matches hers. He was sent by the same office. He knows her name was in the brief. She knows his was in hers. Before either can retreat behind professional distance, the snow closes the A9 and the satellite dies, and the house — cold, vast, full of other people's unfinished letters — becomes the only world they have. Alone in a place built on silences, Natalie must decide what's more dangerous: the truth she never said, or the quiet that's kept her safe for seven years.
