Synopsis

Thea Marsh crosses an ocean to close a door she never wanted to open. Her sister Sarah is gone, and the only thing standing between Thea and a clean exit is a shared house in small-town Vermont, a stack of legal papers, and the two people living inside it: Nate, the grieving widower who guards his grief like a locked room, and Cody, the nephew with her family's gray-green eyes and a memory of a mother he barely had. Then there's the envelope. Sealed in Sarah's handwriting, addressed to Nate, written three months before she died. Thea slips it into her bag and tells herself she'll hand it over. She doesn't. Three weeks of forced proximity become a slow unraveling of guilt, longing, and the dangerous pull toward the one man she has no right to want. Some letters were never meant to be sent. Some feelings were never meant to be felt. And some boxes, once opened, can never be closed again. A quiet, aching slow burn about grief, second chances, and the love that arrives at exactly the wrong time.
