Synopsis

Forty-five-year-old Pam Collins is tired of living like a fragile secret. After a devastating lupus diagnosis left her body and spirit drained, securing a community garden plot in Brooklyn is supposed to be her sanctuary—a place to heal in the dirt and sun, away from pitying eyes. But Plot 14-B is already occupied. Enter Rafael: silent, broad-shouldered, and entirely too comfortable claiming her space. He doesn't ask questions; he just works the soil with calloused, capable hands that make Pam remember she is a woman who hasn't been touched in eight months. Instead of fighting, they fall into an unspoken, magnetic rhythm. Morning by morning, side by side, the rigid boundaries between their plots begin to blur. Yet Pam is terrified of being seen as broken, and Rafael clearly harbors shadows of his own. As the spring heat rises, so does the quiet, intoxicating tension between them. Will Pam let down her walls and allow herself to bloom under his intense gaze, or will her secrets uproot the one beautiful thing growing between them? A deeply emotional, slow-burn romance about second chances and finding passion in unexpected places.
